Genre Research: Decision

For our opening sequence, we came to the conclusion that we will be focusing around the psychological thriller genre. We agreed that this would be the best option for our genre based on the storyline. Our film follows the story of a young girl with a perfect life but something is rather off about her. As the main character starts to slowly go insane, the film comes along with her. Our storyline is not intended to be violent or blood ridden. It is supposed to give the viewer an unsettling or anxious feeling and create overwhelming suspense. Psychological thrillers have more to do with torturing the mind rather than giving the viewer an uneasy stomach.  Get Out

Final Project Pitches

My Pitch Blog Pitch A: A girl's perfect life comes apart as she slowly goes insane and the film comes along with her.  Pitch B: Four teenage strangers who have very different personalities get stuck together in a library and must work together to escape. Discuss Pitch A: We discussed the possibility of making this a mockumentary, including the narration of experts. We could incorporate small details throughout that hint at the girl's insanity. She would have perfect grades, a nice boyfriend, friends, and loving parents. But maybe she is schizophrenic. Something is off about her. In the end, it becomes less subtle. The audience starts to realize how truly crazy she is. She is tortured by this, scared of herself. The film joins her in her insanity Discuss Pitch B: We wanted to find an option that would be very easy to film. We are four teenagers, so we could easily cast ourselves in the roles of the four teenagers. We were torn on where the kids would get stuck, and how the situa

For the music video, I am working with Amelie De Kegel, Isaac Gafanovich, and Lilly Gonzalez. Last year, I worked with both Lilly and Isaac for Component III of Global Perspectives. Since then, we have grown closer. I trust their work ethic and productivity. I've also know Amelie for years. We worked together on the music video and received great feedback for it. Each of us are addicted to music. We sum up hundreds of thousands of streaming minutes on Spotify each year. We have also all played together in a band setting, each with our respective instruments. So, we know the capacity of each other. We religiously listen to our favorite artists, and share new releases and discoveries with each other. We worked together on our music video. It was a perfect match! We really have great chemistry as a group, so we knew we wanted to work together again. Our group! So far, we are considering a horror movie concept after Amelie made a suggestion. After talking about the title slides needed

Introduction to Final Project

Image
Hey! I'm back! I finished the music and I am now ready to start my final project! I am a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School, and I am close to turning 16. I am extremely excited to get my driver's license in November. In these past few months, I have grown close to both old and new friends. Driving them around and having the privilege and freedom of leaving my house with friends is very appealing. Another big part of my identity is music. My dad is a guitarist and I started learning from a young age. Now, I go to School of Rock, a local music school for teenagers, twice a week and I am constantly trying my best to improve my guitar skills. I have also been talking to my friend about starting a band of our own! Listening-wise, my taste has drastically changed over the past year. Recently, I have gotten into indie music such as Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker. I recently saw all of them in concert! I collect vinyls and I am a feen for sound quality and guita
